Castleford Tigers

Castleford Tigers were founded in 1926 as Castleford Rugby League Football Club. The ground the team play on is now known as The Jungle after a former sponsorship deal with the now defunct internet retailer, previously it was known as Wheldon Road.

The Tigers name was added in 1995/1996 season at the time the Super League were proposing a merger with local rivals Wakefield Trinity and Featherstone Rovers to form a super club to be named Calder. This was vehemently opposed by everyone and the 3 clubs to this day all servive as separate entities.
